This is your approximate location. You might be anywhere inside this grey circle, not necessarily in the center. When your position is detected clearly, the circle disappears.
Also, if your position on the map is colored with grey, it means that your current location is unknown (for example, GPS signal was lost when you entered the building) and the app shows last known location.
