This can happen if a direct link has been created for a list with bookmarks or if bookmarks have been uploaded to the travel guides catalog (such bookmarks have a tag of limited or public access).
The shared list with bookmarks will be moved to Guides section in bookmark menu if you were signed out of your MAPS.ME account. The possible reasons: you signed out manually; the app data was erased, for example, by cleaner apps; or the app was reinstalled and you signed in with a new profile.
To get your bookmarks back to Bookmarks section open bookmark menu → tap Bookmarks section → tap "Sign in" and use the account that is associated to the bookmarks. Restart the app.
If "Sign in" button is not available, you may be signed in with a different account. Depending on the device platform and authorization method, follow the steps below to sign out and then sign in:
Android
1. Open Android settings → Apps → MAPS.ME → tap "Force stop" and "OK". Then tap "Storage & cache" → "Clear Storage". Note, downloaded travel guides will be deleted when you clear the app storage.
2. Sign in again after the reinstall in MAPS.ME account associated with bookmarks. Restart the app.
3. To download the previously downloaded travel guides again in the catalog → sign in with MAPS.ME account linked to the purchased guides → open the guides catalog → find a guide and tap "Download".
iPhone and iPad
Method 1. For sign-in with Apple ID. Sign out in iOS settings.
Sign in MAPS.ME account related to bookmarks. Restart the app.
Method 2. For sign-in via Google, Facebook or phone number.
1. Reinstall the app to sign out. Please note that during the reinstall the shared bookmarks in Guides section, downloaded guides and personal bookmarks from Bookmarks section will be erased from your device.
Before you do the app reinstall:
a) export your bookmarks from Bookmarks section first to make a copy;
b) see how you can restore the shared bookmarks from Guides section after the reinstall:
Sign in MAPS.ME account associated with the bookmarks and use a direct shareable link to a bookmark set that was shared by creating the link. Alternatively you can restore bookmarks from a cloud backup copy in the app. Open bookmark menu → tap "Restore bookmarks" button. You will be able to restore bookmarks if a backup copy was created and has the required bookmarks.
2. Sign in again after the reinstall in MAPS.ME account associated with bookmarks and use the methods mentioned in the section "b" above to restore the shared bookmarks.
3. To download the previously downloaded travel guides again in the catalog → sign in with MAPS.ME account linked to the purchased guides → open the guides catalog → find a guide and tap "Download".
